The Sawyer Family

Steve & Carrie
Sawyer and Family
The Sawyer Family is
firmly planted in the green rolling hills of rural northeastern Oklahoma
for more than 20 years. Our family has been involved in the care
and raising of a variety of domestic livestock and exotic pets for many
of those years. Because of a particular fondness for "man's
best friend", we sought to establish a breeding home for special
puppies which would be a blessing to those who sought a quality canine
companion.
Thanks to
our
satisfied puppy parents, we have established one of the most
productive and popular breeding homes for special puppies in the United
States. Unlike the impersonal and commercial "puppy
mills" which we have sometimes heard and read about, we set our
hearts to develop a true family-based business, leading with our love
for people. We particularly chose
only a few unique breeds, so that we could concentrate our efforts on
finding and placing quality puppies in quality homes.
My
name is
Carrie Sawyer; I'm also known as "The Puppy Matchmaker".
This title was given to me over the years by friends and
my satisfied
puppy parents
who
have found their perfect puppy match through our service. My
husband Steve and I have made Oklahoma our home for more than 20 years and
Chouteau our small town to raise our children and make memories for a
lifetime.
Animals
have been a part of my life for longer than I can remember.
This
picture was taken in 1939 of my great grandmother "Carrie"
(after whom I was named) and my mother Joanne (the little girl on
the steps) with their first litter of Boston terriers. Whether
living in Detroit, Michigan as a child or Chouteau, Oklahoma, I have
lived with dogs my whole life and was taught animal husbandry skills
from a young age.
Soon
after Steve and I were married, I acquired a CD certificate on my first
pet: a bull mastiff named “Bastions Queen of Sheba”. We
traveled to several obedience trials and conformation shows.
Things came to a halt after giving birth to my first child. We had
many wonderful memories, we went through many challenges which made our
bond even stronger till her death.
I
am a true advocate of dog obedience that can begin with
puppy kindergarten classes available
at your local
PETsMART or local dog training club. I have also
observed many breed shows and national specialties, both in state and
nationally. I have learned much about the large world of dogs and
pet care. Puppies and dogs have been the spice in my life for
years; they make life taste great! I could not
picture
life with out "man's best friend."

We use all the major airlines, but
we prefer
Continental Airlines; they have a
PetSafe Shipping
program. When Continental is not available, we then
use either
American Airlines or
Northwest Airlines. At certain destinations we are
able to get direct flights, but generally your puppy will have a
1-hour layover; and from our home in Oklahoma to either coast,
it takes about 6 hours for puppy to travel
Please click on the following link: “Dog
Food” for more details about our recommended dog foods.
We “free feed” our puppies: in other words, place food out for
them to eat as they desire from breakfast to bedtime, until they
are 16 weeks old. We also supplement this diet with one
tablespoon of “Caesars”
brand soft, moist puppy food which you can find at
Wal-Mart
or
PETsMART.or
PETCO. Or you can mix
one part dry puppy food to two parts moist for the first week to
help encourage your puppy to eat.
We also recommend clicking on the
following link: “Vitamins” to
discover helpful recommendations and suggestions for the highest
level of perfect puppy health.
ALL of our puppies are
registered and come with papers and sometimes with
pedigrees. Selling a puppy without paper work will not
lessen the price/quality of that puppy. We sometimes have yorkie rescues for adoptions for a smaller fee, plus
transportation costs. These rescues will have special
needs during their lives, which will likely require surgery,
medication and/or other special attention.
Please click the following link: “Potty
Training Your Puppy” to see how our puppies are
house-trained. They are familiar with the "wee-wee pads".
To be successful with the wee-wee pads they must be used in a
well-chosen and confined area.

I
prefer using

either service is $15.00. Both services will have a tracking number on
your receipt (so it can be tracked if lost) and I must sign for
it when it arrives.

I am not currently set up to take major credit cards. In certain cases, PayPal could be offered only for time-restraint purposes and
there is
a 3% service charge for this.
You will be required to send full
payment ( 50% if puppy is 6 weeks or younger) plus $200 shipping and
handling cost which includes crate and health certificate. When full
payment is received you will be notified via email or phone that
your funds have arrived and generally your shipping info can be
provided at same time. All deposits are non refundable.

you no longer can receive your puppy a refund of %50 of purchase
price will be refunded not full payment.
When you call about adopting your
puppy, please let us know up front if you are planning to breed
your pet. IF you decide to do so, there are several things
that you must realize including the liabilities and risks
involved in breeding. Full registration is only
given on certain puppies, male or female, that pass the AKC
breed standard. I suggest that you visit the
following link:
Yorkshire Terrier Breed Standard, for an example
of the requirements involved in certification of a breed
standard. No Full Registration is given to large
commercial kennels, these registrations are specifically
restricted to hobby/show breeders only.
